So this is my post I had planned for Sunday night, but I had received the news about Bart and I didn’t feel like doing much that day. I did have pictures of what I did do though. This is a collection of pictures as I knew Bart, my best friend’s dog, who very sadly passed away yesterday. He was definitely a gentle giant and just wanted to be friends with everyone he met.
I knew Bart since he was a puppy, I remember when I would visit and he would get so excited he would pee on the floor. He had the dopiest look as his ears started to stand up and one of them was still floppy.
I had the pleasure of living with him for several years and even though he wasn’t my dog, I still loved him and cared for him as if he were. He didn’t feel like a pet, he was a family member with a big personality. We would take him everywhere with us even if it was just to get snacks from the store. He loved going on hikes and also to the beach, but sleep and cuddles were his favourite. Whenever we would come home from a night out he would always be up to greet us and make sure we got to sleep, and he was always ready for hangover cuddles the next day. Even after I moved away I would always receive pictures of him and Des lounging at home, or him laying outside in the yard enjoying the weather.
Although he is gone he will always be remembered, he made so many friends over the years and made a lasting impression on everyone who met him.
I was extremely sad to hear this unfortunate news and I will miss him very much, but I know he had a wonderful life full of love, happiness, and so many memories. He is now in Puppy Paradise where he can make more memories of his own. <3
